A STRUGGLE TO GO ON ..........

How quickly can you miss someone
A week,an hour,a day,
We started missing you ,
The minute you went away.

We try to come to terms with it
And accept that you have gone,
But without you life is not the same
It's such a struggle to go on.

We think God must have looked down
And seen how good you were
And he needed a special angel
To lend a hand up there.

It's the only thing we can think of
What other reason could there be?
We just wish He'd send you home
And from this heartbreak we'd be free

In my home there is a photo,
of a face more precious than gold.
And to those who love and lost you,
your memory will never grow old.

Today I look at your photo,
at your face so loving and true.
No wonder my heart is breaking,
losing a hero like you.

But each day you walk beside me,
and when my life is through.
I pray that god will take my hand,
and lead me straight to you
I've listened to the footprints poem
a million times or more
of how when only one set shows
upon the sandy shore

It’s the lord carrying us
and taking on our load
and his are the only set
of footprints that showed

But what if when we look
there are no footprints to be found?
All we see is plain and simple
sand upon the ground

No imprints showing that our lord
is carrying us through life
helping us when we feel
we can not handle all this strife

Where is my lord now that I’ve fallen
and can't seem to get back up?
So tired and lonely
trying to deal with what seems
an overflowing cup

Where are those footprints
in the sand
to tell me he's right there?
helping me with problems
and showing that he really does care

Does he have favourites, OH NO
please tell me that's not so
but why does life seem easier
for some people that I know?

And sometimes I just scream out loud
although it seems in vain
but often gets harder each day
to deal with all this pain

And then it dawned on me
as I realize how simple could it be
I wonder why I was so blind
that I truly did not see

It must have been a lightening bolt
that one day gave me light
because out of the clear blue sky
I finally regained my sight

I saw a fluffy white cloud
shaped like an angel dear
that helped me to understand
and see things oh so clear

That’s when I saw no footprints
and so often wondered why
my lord carried me on angel wings
when he decided to fly.

~~ The Hand Of God ~~

I felt the hand of god today
it touched my broken heart
it didn't mend it never will
but at least it was a start

He did his best to comfort me
and help me understand
the reason why he took you
into the promised land

The angels must have sung with joy
with arms outstretched with love
and welcome you into the home
they share with god in heaven above

His promise to the kind and good
is joy beyond compare
those things you were abundantly
and of joy you take your share

Try as we might it's hard to grasp
you are no longer here
for all we long for everyday
is to have and hold you near

Our days are filled with longing
to see your smiling face
to enjoy once more the happy times
and share a warm embrace

Instead we struggle on and on
the pain it will not go
with only memories to keep us sane
oh how we miss you so

It's hard to go on living
we are so tired and lonely
each day all we can think is
'why? and oh, if only'

But these are things we cannot change
as much as we might try
and so we go on thinking
'oh, if only and oh why?

WE LL NEVER SAY GOODBYE

I cannot see you with my eyes
But thoughts of you are with me still
And often dry my tears
You whistle in the rustling leaves
That linger in the fall
And in the gentle evening breeze
Im sure i hear you call
A part of you remains with me
That none can take away

I love to walk with Grandad
His steps are short like mine
He never says "hurry up"
He always takes his time

His eyes see things ,like mine
Most people are in a hurry
They do no stop and see
Im glad that God made Grandad
Unrushed and almost as young as me
I m proud to call you Grandad
And you mean the world to me!

My daughter dosen't know I'm watching her
But I'm watching her just the same.
And I hear each tear falling on her face
At the mention of my name.

They says it sounds like music to their ears
And can be heard over a crowd.
I hear each tear falling on her face,
When my name is said aloud.

I watch her stumble through each day
As she wishes the day would end.
And I hear each tear falling on her face
As she talk of me with her friends.

But there are few who truly understand.
This I've heard he proclaim.
And I hear each tear falling on her face.
Will my daughter ever be the same?

I know that her smile could light up the sky,
But I don't see them smileing today.
But I hear each tear falling on her face,
and her blue skies have turned to grey.

I send my daughter hugs full of love
with the rays of the morning sun.
Then I won't hear tear's falling on her face,
For I shall erase them one by one.

Yes my daughter doesn't know I'm watching her,
But I'm watching her just the same.
And when I hear a tear fall on her face
I softly whisper her name

R.I.P Grandad

You're loved deep within my heart,
I have always loved you from the start.

I hate to think how long until again we see,
When we meet in heaven and you cuddle me,
I hate to think that you're not here,
To hide me from all of my fear.

I'de give anything for one last holiday with you,
I loved going away and you did too.

I miss you so much,
And you should know,
It hurts so badly that you had to go.

You fell asleep in your hospital bed,

He taught me how to ride my bike
He taught me how to play
But best of all he taught me
How to love him every day
His face was warm and gentle
His eyes were big and blue
His heart was full of kindness
The kindest man i knew
He had his little sayings
That would make you laugh and smile
He picked you up when you were down
And made troubles fade awhile
He helped me when i needed him

Remember remember

Remember remember the 5th October,
That was the day that you passed over,
The anlgels took you by the hand to say,
"You're coming up to heaven today".

Then no sooner did you pass away,
Now we think of the good-bye we didn't say,
Each and everyday we shed a tear,
But I know that you are always near.

We all miss you,
And hope you miss us too,
I remember seeing you in your bed,
And many thoughts ran through my head.

You where a great grandad all of the time,
I miss your voice when you sang a rhyme,
You've gone now but not without a fight,
Well now I guess I best say good-night.
